Victoria Smith, Advising Team Member
Victoria serves as Larissa’s resident business operations and clinical development expert. Victoria has previously consulted for multiple early stage digital health startups that went on to raise $100M+ in venture capital, SBIR grants, and government-sponsored research. She has experience working with both small and enterprise-level public and private healthcare clients, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Veteran's Affairs. Victoria has worked with digital health technology companies from pre-seed through Series D. Victoria is a former Entrepreneur in Residence of the Startupbootcamp Digital Health CT program and has pitched to the nation's top 5 hospitals and health insurers. Prior to answering her calling as an entrepreneur, Victoria conducted clinical research and neuroimaging trials at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is fluent in academic research, clinical protocols, and has experience with all aspects of digital health business development and operations, from R&D pipelines to managing technical teams.
Victoria holds a B.Sc in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University and has completed professional certifications in international public health, security and resilience training, and emotionally intelligent leadership. Victoria splits her time between NYC and Boston and loves to catch a CrossFit workout or yoga class wherever she visits!
Erdem Yilmaz, M.Sc, Co-Founder & Technical Advisor
Erdem is a Senior Systems Engineer and co-founder of Larissa. Having obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Erdem received his Master of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he focused on complex system architecture within hardware-software systems. He has extensive experience working as lead engineer and systems architect for multiple successful technology startups including Evolve Technology, a Bill Gates-backed venture funded startup, and has built and designed satellite and drone technology used on the International Space Station. As a technology enthusiast and technology management genius, he provides valuable technical advice, ensuring the most efficient and cutting-edge hardware and software technologies are being used.
Arthur Celestin, MD, MPH, Co-Founder & Managing Director
Arthur is a Board Eligible General Surgeon, Fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center -Harvard Medical School and co-founder of Larissa. A graduate in Biophysics from Andrews University, Arthur received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed a Masters in Public Health From Harvard University School of Public Health. He then completed his general surgery training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Harvard Medical School, where he was the recipient of multiple clinical and teaching awards. He has published several peer-reviewed publications. In addition to clinical practice in reconstructive surgery, Arthur has a deep interest in finding the most efficient ways to improve health care delivery within surgery and medicine.
